Sometimes the "hopeful" part of my hopeful curmudgeon persona gets pushed to its limit.

Here's something that bugs me.

I’m attending the American Baptist Mission Summit (what used to be called the Biennial) in Kansas City this weekend. I have had a chance to re-connect with some old friends and colleagues, and also to meet some new people.

Rumor has it I will have a book published sometime in the coming months.

Prayer can be a very humbling experience. Quite often it is for me, at any rate.

We curmudgeons have many role models. I included quotes from W. C. Fields and Andy Rooney  my last post. Lewis Black is a more contemporary example in the same vein.

“Start every day off with a smile and get it over with” (W. C. Fields). I have a persona. I am a curmudgeon.
